Rating is for the Post. The excursion to the Mayan pyramids at Lamanai with cruise up the New River was exceptionally good. Fascinating wildlife, excellent guides and all in all a terrific day!
Pretty tacky area around the port. An interesting museum which is worth a visit and focuses on the reef, the Maya and the Mexican colonisation. Otherwise not much to do except shop for junk!
Superb guide and a very interesting and worthwhile excursion. Chacchoben is very different from Lamanai in Belize and so very well worth seeing as well.
Since our last visit in 2005 Key West - or at least the area around the Cruise Port - has gone down significantly. Where are the nice boutiques that used to be there? I had the feeling that if I wasn't interested in junk food and very tacky - almost obscene - tee shirts I needn't bother with Key West. This is a shame!
