Really like the way RC keeps adding things and improving their private beach. But agree with other reviewers concerns about the number of flies landing on the open air lunch buffet - yuck.
We went to the beach next to the waterpark. Rented a flotation mattress for 12 dollars and also got two lounge chairs. We relaxed while sons went on a kayak excursion. They enjoyed the excursion - said their guide provided a lot of interesting information about Haiti.
The vendor area is not my favorite. Like many people I am not comfortable with the pushiness that you will find in many ports and beaches.
Labadoozie drink vendors are usually funny and the rum concoction is great.
Port is only a couple of years old and is still under construction in some areas. We purchased a catamaran rum and snorkle excursion through RC and had a blast. A short bus ride took us to the dock area. Be aware tho - this excursion says it's for all ages and abilities - but in order to get on the boat you need to wade in the water and climb a short flight of narrow steps. Really glad we did not bring my parents along - as one uses a walker and would never have made it on the boat.
The boat ride was fun, the weather wonderful, the snorkeling great, and the rum drinks outstanding. In fact, walking a straight line was tough when we were returning to the ship. Any thoughts about doing shopping in the port area were abandoned.
