We had a great excursion with two stops - there were 9 of us on the boat with two staff. We went to the National Park for snorkeling and then to another site. Operator had a cooler with drinks, snorkel equipment and were were out for most of the day for $25 per person.
I wasn't aware that all the Belize ships passengers come to shore by tender. They are anchored a long way out so it takes some time to go to shore.
We booked a private excursion - tour of city and then headed inland for about an hour to go cave tubing. This was so much fun. It was amazing to tube through the caves. We had to ford the river a couple of times and walk for about 20 minutes, however wasn't a rough ride - a slow float through the amazing caves. Cost was $50 each. Belize seemed to be a very poor country, and landscape was more interesting as we headed towards Belmopan.
We stayed at Mahogany Bay - no need to take the chair lift - its only a short walk to the beach. Snorkeling on the far end of the beach, at the coral reef. Loungers available... water beautiful. so relaxing.
Grand Cayman is approached by tender, but the ship is close to shore, so it doesn't take long to go ashore.
Was a great experience. We booked the excursion as soon as we were on shore. We gathered in the dock area . Operator told us the time he was leaving, and left precisely at that time. He drove us to the dock area were we went by boat to the Stingrays, to the reef and then snorkeling. This was a wonderful day.
