I loved Roatan. Be prepared to say "no" to the shell necklace and shell peddlers, unless you truly would like to purchase something. The price is low enough that your $2 for a shell could make their day with a single purchase. There are some fun shops (walking distance through the duty free shop) near the port and a great beach. If you like to lie on the beach - take the chair ride and lie out by the beach, swim, and enjoy the restaurants / shopping right off the dock. There are many lounge chairs in the shade, showers, beautiful water and food. No need to do any excursions. If you aren't a beach person, take an excursion. You can do both if you do a short excursion in the morning and the beach in the afternoon. My highlight in Roatan - seeing a sea turtle in its natural environment. Have a drink at Fat Tuesdays and take your photo with the big boots! Roatan is a great port.
Fun Port. Be prepared for a 15 minute tender ride - enjoy the experience. Buy a Moho Chocolate Bar. Find an excursion that makes sense for your likes and enjoy! Don't miss the last tender!
