We took the "Best of Routan Island". We were stuck in a van the had originally had 3 rows of seats, but they were removed and 4 rows were installed. 8" for your legs. As we were going thru town, the guide would tell us "There's the bank", "there's the gas station", "there's the airport", "there's Bills, he fixes cars", "there's the school". When someone asked about the schools, she could not answer the question. I didn't think " How long is the school year?' was a tough question. We stopped at a place that did the local dances, which was interesting and then of to a Mud House. Last stop was at a place that was trying to sell condominiums.

Air boat Adventure & Belize City Tour. Recommend this excursion. It was fun, entertaining and the guide was well versed. She answered all questions and was funny. The Air Boat Adventure was so much fun. Worth the excursion all by itself. Go on this. I think you can get of the ship and get it for 1/2 price, but either way, DO IT!

Stay on the boat. It was a shopping center built by the cruise ship companies. That is unless you are interested in purchasing a lot and have a home built there. Some Mayan ruins are withing walking distance from the shopping center. You just have to figure out how to get out.

Cozumel

We had been to Cozumel 15 years ago for a week. We were really interested in seeing the change. And what a change it is. There are now two separate cruise terminals complete with a shopping area. The town has grown. We got an island excursion off the boat and was very good. Big comfortable ford van and a very good driver that was also the guide. We went completely around the island with many stops. We never felt rushed and had a good time.Our best meal was here. There is a small restaurant that is by the parking lot that was excellent!
