Barcelona was the port of embarkation - well rehearsed procedures make formalities easy. Minibus from bottom of Las Ramblas to ship.

There is a fairly long walk from ship to getting out of terminal. Open top buses available to take a sightseeing tour round Funchal. Hop on Hop off Service. Plenty of cafes in the city centre. Bus cost 12 Euros each - Be warned if you want to see Cathedral it closes at 12 noon. No problems with this port - easy to self navigate
