It was a warm sunny day but very windy. The equipment was in good shape and everything was dry when we started. The guides were very knowledgeable, especially the female biologist. The water was very rough and the waves were coming right over the front of the kayak. It was so rough that we were unable to go ashore on the beach on the island. We were told the weather was really unusual. We saw many birds and a manatee's tail twice. I think this would have been a great excursion if the weather had cooperated.
This was an absolutely gorgeous tropical island. There were two main beaches and most everyone stayed there. The rest of the island was practically deserted. I had a great time exploring. There was volleyball and dancing on the beach.
We got off the boat, were crowed and attached by people trying to sell us tings, walked a few blocks away from the ship and ran the gauntlet again to get back on. I seemed that the only real attraction were the booze cruises or the overpriced Atlantis. We had a great time for the afternoon enjoying the empty pool by ourselves.
