The first stop was San Juan, PR. I'm very familiar with the city so we opted to walk around Old Town for a couple hours. Due to the weird schedule of ship, we arrived in San Juan about 3 pm and left at 10 pm! Not sure that it was really worth the stop for people who had never been there before.
Always a fun stop. It was Christmas the day we docked so most everything was closed. We rented a car at the Port and drove ourselves to a nice French lunch in Grand Case and then on to Orient Beach. What a madhouse that beach was. I think everyone on every cruise ship and the local island people were at the beach that day. Still fun and beautiful.
The Scenic Train Ride was great. About a 30 minute bus ride through the countryside to meet the train. Then, about a 2 hours train ride back to the starting point near the ship. The train staff included a narration and rum drinks served during the trip. What's not to like about that!
