Nice town, I think. Unfortunately we arrived later in the day near sunset so there was limited time to explore on foot. I would like to go back some time to really see the town. I noticed many people coming back after a short time ashore.
Great town on the Dutch side. Great beach at Orient Bay. Transportation was easy - just take a taxi at the port. We paid $6 per person per way and got to set our own itinerary and schedule.
The first time we visited the island, we made the mistake of booking an excursion and was rushed and paid a premium.
This time we called the shots, saved money and had a blast.
Dirty town at port but was able to save a good deal of money on some purchases. I wouldn't make it a non-cruise destination personally. We have taken an excursion to Magens Bay on another cruise.
