The cruise terminal had nice shops, great birds, very organized taxi service and was one of the nicer terminals we have encountered. We took a cab on our own to the old city. Glad we did, but street "vendors" were persistent and annoying, which detracted from the experience.
Excellent guide and tour on Gatun Lake! Actually got lucky and saw 2 and 3-toed sloths, toucans, and howler monkeys on the tour! Very nice to be on the lake and good information provided by the guide on the ride to the tour.
Panama Canal Tour Rating:
Our tour stopped at Gatun Locks after the Eco Cruise and watched several ships going through. Could have used a little more time at the Gatun Locks.
Immigration issues and port issues rendered this port horrible! Supposedly, immigraion requirements required early arrival but left us trapped on the ship. Also, the ship was moved during the port stop. Thus from 11:00AM-1:00 PM no one could get on or off the ship. There was some shpping at our first berth but absolutely nothing at our second berth.
