Shopped the marketplace, but the booths all pretty much sold the same items. Shopped in the streets near the ports which was fine. Took a taxi to Atlantis but they wouldn't let us get near the pools or any of the "guest only" areas. Not worth it.
We did the "Speedboat to Sanoa Island" tour. Fabulous! Tour guide Isaac was a local and was extremely informative and very interactive with the guests. We learned alot about Dominican history, celebrities who own homes there in exclusive neighborhoods, etc. The boat ride was very pleasant and the beach time was great. Clear blue water (lots of rocks, look out), locals selling fresh coconuts and oil, shops to visit, etc. Then a trip to the sandbar to swim with starfish.
"Hidden Paradise Zipline Adventure"- once again, fabulous. Bus driver was super friendly and offered lots of info about San Juan and Puerto Rico. Zip lines were so fun. Thought I would be scared but I wasn't. The guides explained everything so well and really emphasized safety. They were passionate about what they do, and it showed. Beautiful scenery- a real hidden gem in what seemed to be the middle of a city.
Had time when we returned to shop a bit in San Juan. Great city for shopping and walking. Was happy we had time to enjoy an excursion and time to see the city too.
Enjoyed this very much as well. Swam with fish all around us and even some nurse sharks. Only negative was I got a bit chilly after being in the water for a while. It was abou 80 degrees that day, but the sun was in and out.
