I loved Amsterdam. Lots to see, and more economical than I expected. I ate at Haesje Claes, MAX and Toscannini and really liked all of them. There was lots of interesting information on Amsterdam's past at the City Museum. Most interesting to me was the period of the Nazi Occupation. The canal cruise gave a great perspective of the city, and I loved the bike tour I took with Mike's Bike Tours.
Excellent port. We took a really good historical tour here. The city is beautiful and we were lucky to be there on a rare (I'm told) beautiful day. If you're on a tight budget, take advantage of the food on the ship rather than eating here. It's very expensive.
