Beautiful port as the ship docks right next to the beach. The beach is clean with lots of free lounge chairs. The water was a bit chilly but you got used to it. The duty free shops are nice and clean and right next to the beach. There is a huge pool right next to Margaritaville and many passengers just claimed a lounge chair and hung out by the pool there.
We felt all the excursions were a little over-priced and since there is a trolley stop right next to where the ship docks, we decided to it since it was free. We rode all over the Old Town and it even stopped at both forts--San Cristobel and El Morro. We spent a couple hours at El Morro and had a great time.
We sailed on Castaway Girl. The catamaran is nice and the crew friendly. The water was clear and warm. Nice excursion if you want to snorkel. The port shops are nice and clean but you need to pay $3 to get a taxi to downtown. Shopping in St. Thomas is VERY expensive and we should have done more shopping in Grand Turk or San Juan since similar items were less expensive there.
Beautiful island and beach but tendering seemed to take such a long time--again not enough staff. The beach is beautiful and really there is no need to rent the little houses they have there. You don't need much more than your towel and chaise lounge. The water was COLD and never really warmed up. The BBQ lunch, although a nice touch, was chaotic and they seemed to run out of food.
