We also were tendered in Belize, using their charter boats.
We did the Cave tubing and jungle walk through Oceania. It was a very long bus ride but the bus was very nice A/C and plenty of room. We drove through very poor area's and had security on our bus as well. There were a few check points as well. The driver and the guide were excellent, the guide was super informative on the way there and had tons of information to give us about Belize. The walk was something i wasn't prepared for. It was over a mile walk over rocks, so if you are older and not in the best shape this can be very hard on your feet. Plus you had to carry your tube and Hard hat the entire way. I was wearing water shoes and my feet were killing me. The cave water was chilly but once u got in your tube it was smooth sailing. Our guide really was informative and very safe and kept an eye on all of us. We were provided a great buffet lunch, all you can eat and we were starving. We bought some local beers for only $2 bucks each. And then on the bus ride home the tour guide let us relax and take a siesta.
We could of paid half the amount of money and done it privately but I feel like Oceania's was excellent and very well done.
We took a taxi to Nachi Cocom beach resort where we had prebooked an all inclusive package of drinks and food all day, and we also got massages there as well, This place was fabulous and can't wait to go back.
A beautiful island. We were docked here and it was very easy to take a taxi, we had plans to go to a beach resort called Mahagony bay but it was closed because our cruise was utilizing it for an excursion so we went next door to infinity beach resort, it was gorgeous there were tons of europeans vacationing there a gorgeous infinity pool that looked out to the crystal blue water.
A strange thing about Roatan was that your taxi driver stayed and waited for you. So he was there the entire time which was weird and comforting in a way.
We did the Pez Quadro beach club at 40 canyons. It was a 4 dollar taxi ride and the town is really not much to look at but the beach was dead and the chairs were free. We had waiter service on the beach and it was very pretty and relaxing since no one was there. We were the only ship in port that day.
We walked around Key west and did Ernest Hemingway's house tour it was really cool and we also had breakfast at the 6 toed cat right down the block which was excellent. We walked around duval street and then headed back to the ship
Another port we got to see was Santo Thomas Guatemala, we did the Livingston humanitarian tour with go with Gus, it was excellent as well
