Took a safe $3 taxi from the port to Mahahual. Went to the Tropicante bar which is owned by an american Steve Uhrl. This is an excellent bar with cheap drinks/food and attentive waiters. Steve and his waiters can arrange for snorkeling or cheap massages.
Booked an excellent private tour via Coral Breeze tours. the tour was called Shark Ray Alley and gave us 90 minutes of excellent snorkeling and a stop in Caye Caulker.
One of my most favorite stops. Booked a tour via Victor Bodden. Went to a monkey farm, tour around the island and about 3 hours at Infinity Bay Resort. The reef is right off the beach and was like swimming in a aquarium.
