After spending a few hours at the old fort, (also a worthwhile tour) we set out to find the Barrachina Restaurant, one of two claimants as the originator of the Pina Colada. It is easy to find and is marked on the local tourist map you can get when debarking at the pier. It is easy walking distance from the fort or the ship. It doesn't look like much on the outside but you step into a lovely courtyard featuring fountains and beautiful plants. Inside or outside dining is available.

After finishing off the best Pina Colada I have EVER had (made from fresh juices, not a mix)and some great tapas, we ordered another round of the delicious Pinas. Our waiter happily gave us the story of why their claim to be the originator of the drink is the legitimate one.

Next time we will visit the Caribe Hilton (the other claimant) to compare. One can never do too much research on these important questions!
