This is still one of my favorite ports. The sand is soft and white and the sea is the prettiest turquoise color. The water tends to be chilly at this location no matter what month we are there. The air temp was in the upper 80's. We rented a clamshell to help shade us from the sun as there is little other shade available. There is a BBQ lunch which is fair quality and unorganized. We were in port with another ship which made the island a little crowded but not bad. This is a tender port so if the weather is bad you might not be able to get to the island.
This was a nice port. The first time we visited Grand Turk a few years ago the only thing there was a pool. Now there is a great beach. My only complaint is that there is a lot of sea grass littering the beach and water. There was shopping close that was owned by the cruise line. The views from beach are straight off a postcard....beautiful. Lots of palm trees in this area. There is a pool for those who don't like the beach and there is a Margarita villeee restaurant close.
This is one of the best places to snorkel. We saw a great variety of fish we had never seen before. We booked a 2 hour excursion with Snorkeling with Renee. She was fabulous and the tour was small. There is great snorkeling right off the shore on this island. This island is clean and the locals are very friendly.
Curacao is another great island. There is great snorkeling here. Lots of fish. Warm water and air temps. Great cruise pier area. Lots of history on this island. Highly recommend this island.
This is a great place to snorkel. The air and water temps were great. The island was crowded but modernized. Great sea views and Caribbean feel on this island.
WE booked a land and sea excursion after our cruise as our plane didn't leave until 355. This tour was well organized but the tour guide got a little carried away with his history lessons. This was a good trip.
