Left on time. Guide was fairly knowledgeable. Our group wasn't scheduled to enter the Tower until 12:00 and the guide seemed annoyed that we had to kill time until then, so he gave us "free time". We explored the other buildings in the area which were very interesting then we walked up the Tower.
Great guide. Very knowledgeable and informative both going to Aix and returning. Once we arrived in Aix our guide gave us the permission to leave the walking tour at any time and explore on our own, provided we return to the meeting point at the assigned time. We walked off the beaten path and found a local market - loaded up on olive oil, herbs, lavender, soaps, etc. Lots of fun. Once back we explored the town of Sevigne sur Mer (?) where the ship was docked. Kind of down on it's heels, but walk around a bit then back on the ship.
Short bus ride to meet up with a ferry to take us to Portofino. Guide provided us with some information about the area to and from the ferry. Once at Portofino we walked around a bit then had some time on our own. Since we were there after the season a lot was closed, but you could imagine what a hopping place it must be in the summer.
You picked up your iPod and accompanying map and set off to see the sites of Barcelona. Lots of great information and easy to follow. It was a great way to do a tour at your own pace. You could stop when you wanted to and skip other things that weren't of interest. The program was created for cruise ship passengers and the audio narrator reminds you of the need to leave enough time to return to the ship. Lots of fun.
