We've been here many times and always go to St. John for the beaches and serenity. Docking at Crown Bay makes this very difficult since the taxi folks won't dispatch a taxi to Red Hook for the ferry until a van is full. Waiting 50 minutes for them to fill a taxi is ridiculous and can get your day off to a bad start. I'd advise going to Sapphire on St. Thomas instead (although the Red Hook ferry is just about five minutes beyond Sapphire). Love this stop but the taxi situation at Crown Bay is pretty bad if you don't want to go to downtown, Megan's Bay, Sapphire or a St. Thomas tour.
