Took the ship's shore excursion to Giverny and Rouen. I have always dreamed of walking in Monet's gardens and the Japanese bridge so this shore excursion was perfect. It looks just like his paintings. Just beautiful. We ate lunch in the Impressionist Museum Restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was quick. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you need gifts the store after the gardens has beautiful, reasonable things.
The port was really Cherbourg but it wasn't listed. Took a ship's shore excursion to Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary. Wonderful and so somber to see as an American. The tribute at Omaha beach is very memorable but would have liked the tour guide to come out of the bus and give us histroical information. Also at the American Cemetary would have liked more info from the tour guide. A must-see for everyone.
very interesting shore excursion to Sete Cidades to see the twin lakes, one green and one blue. The views at the top of this crater was outstanding. We saw many rainbows after the brief rain shower. Also visited a park and a pineapple plantation. Interesting!
