Went to two hill top towns for $149 which included a very skimpy lunch. Weather was stormy for part of the day but the towns were fantastic. San Gimignano and Volterra. Of the two I enjoyed Volterra the most because of the excellent Etruscan museum.
For those who have seen Rome multiple times, go to Lake Bracciano. Excellent place with a gorgeous castle. Loved the site. The tour escort was completely dull and only walked us to the castle but was unclear about the times we had afterward.
The weather was gorgeous and I recommend this place highly.
Used to live here so met up with Italian friends for pizza. Great city lots to see. Stay safe though and don't try to buy iPads from tricksters on the streets.
Queen of the Adriatic. Thank goodness there was no flooding. Gorgeous weather but a bit cold and at times foggy. Had an over night there. Love this city above all in Europe. Fifth time to visit. Just walk around and enjoy the city itself. See the museums if you want. Such a gorgeous place that someday will sink into the water for good.
Dubrovnik is also one of the top ports in the Med. We took a local bus to the old town and walked to the cable car. Worth the money! Great views. Then we walked around the old city and then back to enjoy the ship. Third time there.
