Venice is the place to see especially if you can still depart via Canale Della Giudecca! Long after that comes an arrival at New York Hudson River port.

Far too touristic despite late in season: the old town consists only of shops and restaurants for tourists, not one place that local people would frequent! Everything nice to whatch but no real life!
