This in not Los Angeles,it is San Pedro. We got off the ship and wandered. We enjoyed the public market that just happened to be on on the day we were there. The excursions from the ship were whirlwind bus trips and we opted for a day on our own.
It was different in October than when we came in March. The crowds were smaller and there were less people lining the walk hawking things at you. We opted for a private Kayak trip with Cabo Outfitters. That was awesome and I would do that again in a heartbeat. We then walked back to the ship and picked up a few geocaches along the way.
The Pirate Ship Ahoy was better than what I had been expecting. It was a live action pirate adventure, kayaking, snorkeling and I was impressed with the food. This was a full ship as the Holland America was offering a free excursion to get us off the ship to do some work. It was a challenge as the waves were big and the we had a number of people with mobility issues.
We wandered around Balboa Park. I wish we had a full day as planned as the shorted day did not give us time to do too much at all. We love the location and would like to come back.
