Private island tour was well worth the money. Vangelis Vranikas met us at the port and for the next 5 hours introduced us to the beauty of "his" Corfu - uncrowded, unspoiled, delightful! We stopped for Greek coffee with a few locals in a tiny village near the top of the island, enjoyed grapes fresh from the vines as a treat. When almost 2000 people descend upon anyplace, the destination is changed. Vangelis took us away from the crowds and the "typical" sights to see "his" Corfu. He was charming and delightful and we highly recommend using Taxi Tours Corfu!
Highly recommend Context Travel if you like small, intimate groups (6 people max). We had a guide for just our group of 4 - Kelly Bourni with a Master's degree in modern letters from the Sorbonne and a certificate in archaeology from the National School in Athens. She gave us not just a history lesson but insight into the passion and loyalty of the greek people. It would be easy to spend hours in the museum thinking you need to "see everything". Kelly moved us though the museum efficiently and the entire tour was informative and worthwhile.
Rented a jeep and went exploring - 60euros for the day! Elias Beach was beautiful and uncrowded. Enjoyed lunch on the beach - fabulous! Once we returned to the city center we enjoyed shopping along the harbour. Great place to "get lost" without the worry of really being lost!
Kayaks were in good condition. Guides were great. Weather was perfect! Highly recommend this activity if you like being on the water! Still enough time afterwards to walk through Dubrovnik, enjoy a quick beer in an Irish Pub and take pictures in the cathedral. A near perfect day!
