We did the Hop on Hop off Trolley Tour. We had purchased our tickets online instead of through the ship because they are much cheaper online. We also did the 2 1/2 mile freedom walk. Tons of history! We really enjoyed this place. We ate at Union Oyster House for lunch. It is the oldest restaurant in the US and the ambience and food was incredible! Make sure you have the Boston Cream Pie!!
Before we did the Kennenbunkport tour we got off the ship and bought two tickets for the city bus tour (there is a stand on the dock where you can purchase each ticket for $5.00 each.) We took the bus around to get aquainted, shopped in some of the cute little shops close by and had lunch at Allsions. Lunch was very dissapointing. We had the lobster roll and lobster bisque and there was about a teapsoon of lobster in the roll. Allisons was on the main strip of restaurants, maybe we just chose the wrong one. Loved Loved Loved the Kennebunkport Tour! Kennebunkport is adorable and we went during the fall foliage season so it had beautiful colors! Quaint little shop and wonderful homemade blueberry pie ala mode at all the restaurants! The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly.
We did the 10 Best of Saint John. This was a good tour. The best was going to St. Martins and seeing the sea caves. You also see a couple of covered bridges and some quaint little shops in a shiping cove. Old City Market was enjoyable but the rest we could have skipped.
Best tour of the cruise! Absolutely a must! The drive there and back is beautiful and Peggys Cove is enchanting. The little shops, rocky cliffs, lighthouse were all so enjoyable. The guides were wonderful. We really enjoyed this tour!
