We were driven by bus to a few view point for photo opportunities. Then we were taken to a restaurant to try some of the local red and white wine and cheese. It was an inexpensive way to get a taste of the island. We were dropped off at the city centre and went on our own to buy some souvenirs. We went for lunch in the old town and tried the local fish (Espada).
We had a fabulous tour guide who was really into flowers and trees. She had stories about every plant and made the whole tour very enjoyable. We first visited the botenical garden which was a treasure cover for botonist. Then we went to the private garden of a hotel where we enjoyed some coffee and snacks. Then we visited another garden Risco Bello. It was a garden built by a gentleman to help his wife recouperate from an illness. It was another amazing garden made more enjoyable by our tour guide.
This was a bus tour that took us up to the mountain edges to see the volcano craters. The roads were quite winding and one fellow passenger got motion sickness. We also visited Teror,a small town, and went to see the church. It was just a quick look of the island.
This was a must-see attraction. At the Mountain of Fire, we got to feel hot hot the sand was, saw straws being ignited by the volanic heat and chicken and potato being barbaqued over the volcanic vent. We then drove up and down the mountain and took many great photo of the barren landscape. Lastly we visited a winery.
