The rainforest and the glacier were very interesting and well worth the tour. The salmon hatchery is a joke. There is one person who stands on the ramp and speaks into a very poor microphone for about 5 minutes. There is one "ladder" to see, then they run you inside to the gift shop. The salmon hatchery in Seattle is far superior, with many more pools and viewing areas, and it is free.
This train ride was very unique. The scenery was nothing special on one side of the train, but they make you switch sides on the return trip, so everyone gets to see both sides. We enjoyed it, though younger people may think it boring.
The lumberjack show was a bad excuse for trying to hustle tourists. There were several young men attempting to convince us there was some sort of competition between them. They did a few stunts that were mildly interesting, but not worth the time or money to us. Very young children might be amused.
Totem Bight State Park Rating:
Do not waste a penny going to see either of these attractions. We got the feeling that the totem poles were manufactured and painted by someone trying to make a buck. The clan house, they admit is a "replica".
There is a lot to see in Victoria, but because we got there around sunset, we did not plan to get off the ship. Who wants to see Butchert Gardens in the dark?
