This little town really seemed to appreciate out cruise stopping there. Friendly people, great bargains, a clean and interesting community. Enjoyed being tendered to shore. What an exciting zipline too. Pity it is so expensive as more of us might have enjoyed it otherwise.
Our original booking was "lost" somewhere in space, so we took a more expensive tour which included Liarsville. We thought this addition was the best part of the whole experience! The train was interesting (not our first narrow gauge train) and the historical detail was worth hearing although some of it was repetitious from the bus ride up. Again, the trip was expensive, and therefore most train cars were only half full. A nice little town, clean and well marked historical spots. We found a few Geocaches in Skagway. We wonder why these small towns don't do more with this for the many cachers who travel north.
Wow, there must be a part of town other than that we got to walk to. How many jewelry stores does one place need? Met some very friendly store owners however, and the buildings around the dock are very attractively painted. Also, a super statue, The Rock, stands on the shore walk.
