We walked through the rain forest on elevated suspension bridges and watched bears eat salmon - it was run season so salmon were everywhere. A cool experience. The tour ended with a walk though a gift shop, reindeer zoo (odd), and a totem poll "sight seeing." Those things could have been axed from the tour.
WE booked with an independent operator for about half the cost and saw lots of Humpbacks. Recommend doing your research in advance - there are tons of companies that offer this experience for far less than what a cruise ship will charge you.
Amazing views on the train up the White Pass Mountain. The highlight was opting to take bike ride down. Mostly down hill and a nice pace to really enjoy the the nature around you.
