First day of cruise so went ashore to explore on our own. Lovely town with small beach. Enjoyed lunch outside at cafe with free wi-fi. There is a small soap factory where we purchased gifts. Felt ike part of the village.
Actually docked in Livorno. I had been to Florence and Pisa, and husband not interested, so opted for a delightful winery tour with a generous sampling of the wines and some food. Very leisurely and relaxing.
Not docked in Rome. Most excursions started very early in day and lasted nine hours. Chose to take train to St. Peter's Station and then walk. Very hot in Rome. Very confusing even with two maps in our hands. After seeing most of the sights, we got a taxi to Termini Station. Be warned that it is two levels and there is no one to help you find your train. Not sure exploring Rome alone is good idea.
Never been to Montenegro or Croatia and was stunned by beauty of both places. In Kotor we were on own own again but had a good map from concierge desk. Lunch was outside at Hotel Rendevous where waitress was able to convert prices in to Euros for us. Relaxing day.
Rained first day so didn't get off ship. Took a boat ride around the islands the second morning. I had spent time in Venice so didn't care about getting in crowds. Loved the view from our aft deck as we entered and left Venice.
