We took advantage of a very relaxing day on Mahogany Beach and never regretted a moment. Riding the ski lift over the lagoon arriving to the beach was a really relaxing experience we recommend. The covered beach chairs turned out to be wind breaks too hot to sit under so we relocated to new open chairs under a palm tree at the water's edge and it was amazing.
Of all we did this day on Mahogany Beach the favorite moment for us was enjoying Caribbean Jerk Chicken made right there on the beach, this is a must you have to try if you ever go to Mahogany Beach.
We never went into Belize ywt we spent the day on the private island called Bannister Island. You could literally see all the way around this island of sand filled with palm trees and man made tiki huts, a bar, gift shop, restrooms, showers and yes a kitchen that prepared for us a fantastic grilled BBQ chicken lunch. The water was beautiful, the sun was warm and the staff was great, this is a great escape from the crowds.
This is where they filmed the Corona beer commercials so the beach was amazing but the staff was pushy trying to sell you stuff and the food was not very good, we have no passion to return to Passion Island.
