Nassau
Port Rating:
We found the port very convenient (the cruise pier was awesome) but busy.
Also since we wanted to "walk" the city we got away from the crowd, but did find the neighborhood heading up to Fort Fincastle a little rough. Wanted to snorkel when we returned after lunch. The Ferry rep in the terminal blatantly lied and said that snorkeling would be possible on Paradise Island. We ended up sitting on a very crowded boat (with NO life jackets) for over 45 mins while they hawked at the crowd in an attempt to fill the boat.
Once arrived at Paradise island we were misdirected to "Cabbage Beach" at every turn. We did eventually find it but no snorkeling there. Felt a little duped. Also the locals were selling everything from beads to water.
After we left a nice lady stopped us on the street and told us "everyone" gets a bracelet on the island (oh really, for a price they do). We gave her a few bucks to extricate ourselves from the situation.
Once back in Nassau we did walk around, do some shopping and had a good time. Still our trip was a bit disappointing due to all of the above "shenanigans".
