Love it. The Bahamas with money, FLorida with history. Pretty, tropical, yet oh, so European. COuld have happily gone back to the ship, gotten my gear and moved into an appartment in the old town.
WOnderful city. We walked everywhere, saw tons of Gaudi and the wonderful food market off the Ramblas. I'd done a lot of research so knew where to go. Would go back in a heart beat.
1 hr bus ride up the coast to towns of Lerici and Portovenere, where the poets Byron and Shelley lived. Shelley actually died in a shipwreck off the coast. The tour guide was great, the towns picturesque, we got a ferry ride across the bay from one to the other, the weather cooperated, we had the perfect amount of time in each place and were given a very tasty lunch in Lerici. Awesome !
