If like us you stay in Venice before joining your ship do not use ACTV from Rialto Bridge to go to Tronchette for the Cruise Terminal, as you will arrive on the wrong side & will have to walk over a bridge to get to the Terminal. Use Alilaguna from St Marco to get there direct. The Terminal is very basic with no amenities only a small cafe with toilets outside. Left luggage is available costing 4 euros per item, the latest time to collect is 1700
A Shuttle bus is available at Dubrovnich from the port costing 10 dollars each to take you to & back from the main centre. A beautiful place with everything at reasonable prices. If taking the cable car expect to queue the Italian way ( free for all )
At Piraeus we joined a Hop on Hop Off Tour bus costing 18 euros each ( should have been 20) to take us to Athens. Takes about 30 mins to get to Athens. Very hot on the day we went, 37 degrees at 10.30 in morning
Blown away with this place. Old Izmir is about 2 miles walk along seafront. Taxi costs 10 euros. If going to The Old Bazaar and approached by anyone who asks you if you want to see their shop expect a 10 minute walk. Always knock stall holders down on prices. Turkish Delight 6.00 Turkish Lira for 1 kilo, about £2!!!
Taken into port by tender ( lifeboats ). When queueing for tender tickets get there early as can take a couple of hours for everyone to get off ship.. Split is a stunning place. A good market.. Ciggies & tobacco are cheap
