I loved the Mendenhall Glacier, it's an absolutely beautiful area. While we were there, there were bear, eagle and salmon sightiings. We spent about 2 hours at the park, taking the hike to the waterfall as well as the salmon runs.
Mount Roberts Tramway Rating:
There really isnt anything impressive about the tramway, except the price. They charge quite a bit to get up to the top. It was raining the day we went so there really wasnt much to do besides shop in their store and then go back down.
Lol, please save your money and do something else. $129 dollars per person price for this 3 1/2 hour 45'ish mile train ride was a big waste of time. The views are not all at impressive and for the price we paid it was nothing more than a profit maker for the cruiselines. Before expenses I estimate that they make $100,000 per run on this cash cow. With 2 runs per day thats a nice $200,000 haul.
