Montreal
Port Rating:
Great city with a lot of sites to see and shopping and food and history! You had to come at least a day before the cruise to enjoy it, though.

Quebec City
Port Rating:
Quebec is beautiful and very accessible to the port. We walked, we took the bus, we tried to take the subway. Beautiful churches, interesting Citadelle experience--please take the road to the entry of the Citadelle and don't climb the embankments like we did! Exhausting.
Chateau Frontenac was disappointing. It is an active hotel, so there are many limits to your roaming.
The old town square is quaint and historical, obviously, with churches, stores, memorials, murals, shops. Unfortunately, it was a record heat day when we were there and that curtailed our outdoor activities somewhat.

Halifax
Port Rating:
Citadelle was enjoyed and full of history. The period dressed employees were WAY above average in their kindness, politeness, knowledge and joy of sharing what they knew with others.
The Public Gardens were a restful spot full of beautiful flowers. Dahlias galore!
The Maritime Museum sounded boring to me, but it was fascinating. Covered the explosion in the Halifax harbor and the Titanic accident very vividly and well. Interesting exhibits of ship models (really),
Loads of learning happens there.
Found a fun restaurant there called Paper Chase.
Great time.

Bar Harbor
Port Rating:
Tender into the harbor. Immigration comes onto the ship and was handled as expeditiously as possible. Sometimes vacationers are their own worst enemies.
Not much to this picturesque town. Some lovely homes to stroll past and a shore walk that is charming. The town itself is very small, which is OK, not much in the way of history. Lots of lobster!

Boston
Port Rating:
Boston was disembarkation point. Loads of history on the Freedom Trail and Concord and Lexington. Before attempting the subway, try to get some info first. Not all stations sell special tickets that are better deals. Rather than pay high prices, do your homework. We didn't.
