The scenic hike and yoga was cancelled due to lack of interest. So, we went shopping instead. Fortunately, James, the ship's port and shopping guide, steered us toward the more reputable stores in St. Maarten.
In Puerto Rico, we went on a tour of El Yunque Rain Forest. It was picturesque. Afterwards, we walked around the old city of San Juan and used our cell phones in Starbucks (the best place for reception).
In Haiti, we reserved a cabana on Nellie's beach. We enjoyed the privacy, away from the noisy crowds, and the upgraded BBQ buffet lunch (including chicken, shrimp and steak). However, our cabana attendant did not bring us our beach mats or food, as advertised in one of the brochures. I did not think of bringing bug spray to the beach, but we got bitten at least five times each by the mosquitoes near the cabana. The vendors at the outdoor Artisan's Village were very aggressive as they relentlessly hawked their crafts and souvenirs. The vendors at the indoor Artisan's Market were pleasant and let you shop at your leisure.
