In Bergen, the ship is docked in a commercial loading area. There is a (free) shuttle bus to the town. It brings you from the ship to a lovely park near the center of town. The thing to do, so we had heard, was to go up in the funicular to the mountain top for the views. Since our day there was rainy, we did not do that. We did walk around the town. The old section Bryggen was very quaint and pretty. The town is quite walkable. There is a lovely little lake with museums around it. We spent some time in the art museum. For one ticket, you can visit four buildings of art. It is remarkably low key, but does have some lovely paintings by Norwegian and other European artists. Strolling through the cobblestone streets is quite pleasant too.
