There's not much to do in Haines proper. You can take the ferry for about $70 to Skagway, which has much more to offer. Not our favorite port.

Glacier Tour Rating: 4.0 out of 5+
We loved Mendenhall Glacier! We booked it ourselves and took a tour bus there and back for $16 roundtrip per person. Hiked to the waterfall, got some great pics. Loved it!

In port, try Tracy's Crab Legs, a food truck right next to the ship. Best we've ever had, and all the locals agree!

Lots of fun, great deal for $40. Lots of great info and a good overview of the town and its history.
