Izmir
Archaeological site of Ephesus Rating:
Tulay was another great guide who appreciated shade, clean and free toilet and safety in visiting the ancient site with slippery marble in many spots. Fabulous tour from a passionate and professional guide who wanted everyone to be welcome in Turkey.

Istanbul
City Tour Rating:
Akif (the ladies call me George Clooney) was a fabulous guide who made use of every minuet to provide helpful information and histoical perspective during an 8.5 hour tour of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia , Topkapi Palace (excellent multi-course lunch) and the Grand Bazaar. The destinations spoke for themselves but Akif added a lot.

Mykonos
Port Rating: Not Rated
Only 31 taxis on the island which proved inadequate with five ships in port. Tendering experience was less than ideal. They need more docks or NCL should pay for one that already exists.

Naples
City Tour Rating:
Antonio was an unbelievable guide who loves the art, architecture and history of Naples. He is an expert guide who charmed all of us during our 8 hour tour. Starting in the Archeological museum where most important objects were removed to made lots of sense and enhanced our understanding.

Rome (Civitavecchia)
City Tour Rating:
This 10 hour tour was undermined by an indifferent guide - Maria Elena - who brought us to the Colosseum and abandoned the group without providing any history or guider=d tour at all. She failed us miserably. The cruise line refunded 25% of the fee to everyone ho asked. The rets of the tour, especially the vatican Museum, Sistene Chapel and St. Peter's went far better. Trevi Fountain and the panheon are must-sees - and we did.

Florence
City Tour Rating:
This our provided us with 4.25 hours in Florence and 75 minutes in Pisa. Our hostess on the bus, Francesca, spoke fluent English (having lived in the United States for a few years) and provided wonderful commentary en route. once in Florence she got us into Clementi's jewelry shop and provided us with lots of helpful information about restaurants, shops., museums etc. We had pre-booked a visit to the Accademia to see Michelangelo's David and enjoyed it . Walking around Florence is always fun and easy - i had been there twice before. We ate at Finnestere and loved the food and flirtatious waiters I(but especially a bottle of Lambrusco) . Pisa was ebven easier because it is a one attraction town.

Marseille
Beach Transfer Rating:
From Toulon, we took a bus to the beach near the Bandol casino. After a port-intensive trip, we relaxed at a beautiful beach with an Aussie family that we befriended on the cruise. Perfect day for all of us- low key and relaxing.
