Do your tour up the cable car to the Top of the Rock after spending some time shopping i the main square and main street. But the greatest place on the entire cruise to eat was HERE in Gibraltar. It is called Pepe's. The tables set on the marina. Fabulous food, great prices and wonderful people.Fresh, fresh seafood. He even showed us the picture of the fish we ate caught the day before!Ask a cab driver to take you or just walk to the marina and ask someone for Pepe's.
This is a true highlight. We had 6 people and pre booked a private Tour company called Luxury Italian Tours. Mercedes Benz van 500 Euro without tip.You tell him what you want and he sets it up. Our guide (driver) was Simone.Easy on the eyes!He speaks perfect English and tours you places no one else would think of. He called ahead and made reservations at a restaurant downtown near Sergio Ferragamo. Low prices and great food.
Took a private tour through Luxury Italian Tours. Victor was the driver/guide. 500 Euro for six people in a Mercedes Benz Van. He can be a little abrasive but is knowledgeable. Get tickets to the Vatican and the Colosseum prior to the cruise or you will be standing in line along time.Print them and have them with you. Trevi Fountain a must.
Not much to see.The people are nice but it has the feeling of a very poor boarder town.We sat down to enjoy some fresh oysters at a sidewalk cafe and were accosted every 5 minutes by vendors (perfume, watches etc.) They need to skip this port for 2 last days at sea.
