Halifax's Top Ten - Such a sense of history. The shore excursion to the Fairview Cemetery was incredible. Lunch was excellent. We really enjoyed it. Great tour guide. Very knowledgeable.
This was a disaster from the beginning. There was no air conditioning in the bus and the windows didn't open. The bus was dirty and crowded. Everyone started complaining about the heat. The tour director told us he would call for another bus. He had the driver pull over, he got out and called for anohter bus. We thought we would wait there until the bus came. He insisted on driving the hour to the first stop in Victoria. It was miserable. We get there and nothing is open. We finally found one enterprising young man who had just set up a stand and we were able to buy a bottle of water. We stayed there until the new bus came. Because we were now running behind due to the broken bus, every other stop was cut short. The stop in Borden at the bridge was a waste of time. The only thing we were to see were the concrete pillars and we were told to hurry. Then we were off to Rustico and lunch. Lunch was good, not great. There was an excellent salad bar set up in the restaurant, but we were not allowed access even if we paid. Way too much time was spent at Anne of Green Gables. Everything else was hurry up to get there and we were there for an hour. The best part of that day was the Cow ice cream.
The visit to Island of Orleans, the incredible countryside, the sugar shack farm and the Mauvide-Genest Manor were so much fun. Excellent tour guide and excellent, comfortable bus. The visit to the sugar shack was awesome. We could have spent more time there. The falls at Montmorency were ok.
