Enormous place - second largest city in Europe (13+ millions). Best way to get around is on the trams. They are cheap and run frequently. They also have their own lane so they are not caught up in the mad traffic. If you want to see the inside of the Blue Mosque, make sure it is not a time when there are prayers as you can't get in. The bazaars are really something.
Took a cab and was shown all the highlights. This has the advantage that you could stay as little or as long at each destination. The cost for 4 was less than the cruise ship's coach excursions.
