Enjoyed Cozumel, but not the vendors. Before going back I would research how much things cost. We had no idea and the price was always different and you are expected to barter. We had fun though. Snorkeling at two reefs was great and the guides we had were excellent. We booked this excursion thru Carnival as our destination changed from Key West to Cozumel due to Tropical Storm Debby.
Grand Caymans you were tendered to shore from the ship. We had an afternoon Royal Dolphin Swim we had booked through another agency prior to sailing. We had to take a taxi to the Dolphin Park. We got done a bit late and were in a hurry to get back to the ship. I thought we were getting on a taxi from the part, but it turned out to be the town bus. We stopped at every bus stop to drop off or pick up passengers. Make sure you get a taxi. We almost missed the boat!
This was by far the most enjoyable port. We went on a "Fern Gully and Green Gotto Cave" excursion booked through Shore Trips. We were the only people on the excursion and had our own driver and tour guide. Maxine showed us all over Ocho Rios and gave the tour the personal touch and we will never forget her. If you are looking for a tour like this, please check them out. Well worth it. Had fun shopping afterwards and talking to the locals. Came home with lots of bead necklaces and three bottles of Jamaican Rum. Good times!
