I took a half day tour of the New Forest by motor coach. Totally recommend it for those wanting a quick and relaxing view of old England. The bus even offered to drop those who wanted to shop at West Quay, an enormous complex. Having extra money on hand, I opted for a cab drive back to Ocean Terminal, which only took this race car driver a minute and a half to execute. Alternatively, other years I took the train a few minutes over to the county seat of Hampshire, Winchester. Southampton itself has a lot to do. But I don't enjoy over industrialized cities as much as having little thatched cottages and free roaming ponies.
More
