Took the river Wallace and Mayan Ruin excursion. Very educational. Guide service was very good. One of the best meals on the trip was the excursion lunch.
See review Very clean, very tropical. Much wildlife, including monkeys, jaguars, pumas and crocs. All in a controlled environment. No worries. My wife cut her leg on some coral. The staff on the island immediately provide first aid. I really enjoyed this port of call. Highly recommended.
Nothing to see, but the Americanized Mall. A little cleaner than Tijuana. Remember, each port has one of these malls. A Diamond International in every one with an inventory exactly the same as the ship's. I realized after this port that you cannot enter the port of call without entering through one of these malls. Do not be tempted by the high pressure sales pitches. Go and get a sea shell of the beach if you want a souvenir. Don't drink the water/bottled only. Make sure you wipe it off thoroughly prior to opening. Do not eat any raw food with a consumable peel, such as a tomato or peppers. They were sanitized with public water. Although, it has got much better over the years, I still would not trust it.
