Easy ride to Burano where we saw a lace demonstration and then wandered around the town over the tiny venetian bridges. Tour guide explained the history of the different colored houses.
Murano Island Rating:
Comfortable small boat took us to the island of Murano while the tour guide pointed out interesting sights we passed and gave an extensive history of Venice. Glass factory demonstration was amazing and then given time to shop in their store. Many, many unusual pieces.
Went to sculpture gallery and home of artist. Given plenty of time to peruse the gardens and guide gave us excellent information about the artist. Next visited the Diocletian Palace and the Split Rivera. Very old, very interesting and very beautiful.
Took a pirate ship on a cruise along the Dalmation coast over to Old Town. Great sight to see from the sea. Old Town is interesting and very historical.
The white cliffs of Volare are fantastic to see. This shore excursion was wonderful because it took us to Polignano for a walking tour and to see the cliffs. Now I can understand why a song was written about them.
