Unfortunately, we didn't moor at the Akerhus pier but a little further out to the west of Oslo. Still, easy access to the city, even on foot (although the Norwegian cyclists are madmen...). Plenty of things to see and do, too.
Reputedly, it almost always rains in Bergen. In truth, not so: we had a nice, sunny day. Be prepared for lines if you want to take the funicular up to Mount Floyen. However, it's rather efficient, and from joining the line to taking my first photo from the top took about a total of 30 minutes, so not too bad at all.
From Langelinie it's a bit of a hike toward the town center, but you'll pass by the Little Mermaid statue and it's a pleasant waterfront stroll, so not too bad at all.
Edinburgh is a majestic city, with lots and lots to see. Definitely worth a more thorough visit in the future. Shuttle buses ran from the South Queensferry pier right into the city center, so those were a lot more convenient than the train.
