I'm not a big fan of Nassau, it has that trashy dirty feeling when you get off the ship and enter the city. It has its good points, Paradise Island, Atlantis, Cable beach but to me its really not worth getting off of the ship and cannot understand why cruise lines can't find a better island(s) to sail to.
Disney shows other cruise lines how to do a private island. From having their own dock to separate beaches for teens, families and adults. They have kid's camps that allow parents to check in their kids for kid's activities while the parents can get away to the adult beach for a little alone time. Lunch is phenomenal on the island as they bring the ship's buffet directly to the island. They have trams that transport you to all the areas of the island from the ship which saves you a lot of walking since their island is very large. The characters were also out on the island to greet the kids.
