We live in San Francisco and love it, so we're biased. The walk along the Embarcadero from the Ferry Building back to the cruise ship pier (around #35), then Pier 39 and Fishermen's Wharf is never tiresome! We did, however, hear several complaints from other passengers about the excursions up to wine country, both because of the expense and the destinations.
